I want to thank those of you who joined us at our Valentine's Day party. It was great to see all of you. I always enjoy watching the kids opening their Valentine's Day cards.

Reading
Our theme for the next three weeks is Community. Our words are for, you, are. Our letters are D, H, R. I will be assessing your child on Friday, March 6 on the words is, play, you, are, for and letters & sounds for O,F,D, H, R. I will also check to make sure that they are retaining the previous taught letters, sounds and words.
Math
We will be working on adding and subtracting numbers together, counting, writing numbers, and problem solving. The Common Core Standard for adding and subtracting is to be able to add and subtract up to ten and be fluent up to five.
Science
We just finished a unit on Force. Ask your child what they learned about pushing and pulling, when they use these two forces and how these forces can be changed by weight and speed.
Social Studies
Last week we learned about Abe Lincoln and this week we will learn about George Washington.
Auction
Please support our PTO's Auction on Saturday, March 8 at 7:00, at Milwaukie Center. This is an adults only event. Fliers went home last week about this event. If you can't attend this event you can support it by donating items for a Movie themed basket. We need movies, blankets, candy and popcorn.
