Dear Families,
I sent home the results of Friday's assessment. Please take a moment to look it over and see how your child is doing. The next assessment will be on March 7th. If you have any questions please contact me at southardk@nclack.k12.or.us or phone me at 503 353-5650 #33609.


Library Books
Library books are due on Wednesdays. Please help your child to get into the routine of bringing their books in on Wednesday. They are very disappointed when they can't check out a new book.

Homework
Home-School Connection is coming home today. Please keep calendars and reading logs in a safe place at home. I will be collecting purple homework folders on Thursdays or Fridays, (the last day of the school week), so that I can fill them earlier on Mondays.

Reading
Our theme or the next three weeks is Animals. Our words are play and is. Our letters are O and F. Please help your child make and confirm predictions when you are reading to them. This skill helps them understand the story.

Math
We will be working on adding numbers together, counting, writing numbers, and problem solving. The Common Core Standard for adding and subtracting is to be able to add and subtract up to ten and be fluent up to five.
