I am so sorry about the confusion of the Home-School Connection last week. I know that some of you got the Spanish version. I will watch that more closely, so it doesn't happen in the future.
Groundhog Day
On Friday we predicted if the ground hog would see his shadow. Ask your child what they predicted and if their prediction was correct. Legend has it, if he sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter and if he doesn't see his shadow we will have an early spring.
Important Information
The following was sent home, February's Homework and reading log, the calendar for sharing, and a class list for Valentine's Day cards. Please take all of this stuff out of your child's backpack and put it in a safe place.
Valentine's day Party/Friendship Day Party
We will exchange cards and have a party on 2/13/14. The A.M. party will be from 9:30 - 10:30. The P.M. party will be from 12:45 - 1:45. Parents, you may join us for this fun event.
Reading
Our theme for the next three weeks is Animals. Our words are play and is. Our letters are O and F. Please help your child make and confirm predictions when you are reading to them. This skill helps them to understand the story.
Math
We will be working on adding numbers together, counting, writing numbers, and problem solving. The Common Core Standard for adding and subtracting is to be able to add and subtract up to ten and be fluent up to five.
