I want to let you know that I am having problems with my left knee. Eighteen months ago I was knocked down by a dog and had a significant injury to my left knee. Long story short, it did not heal correctly and I am facing a knee replacement surgery. I am sharing this with you because I will be missing some days of work for appointments, or to rest my knee. My plan is to have a surgery this summer. I will be gone this Thursday for an appointment and Mrs. Brown will be in to cover the classes.
Spring Clothes/Shoes
This is a reminder to put your child's name inside spring jackets. It makes it easier to return your child's coat if they leave it outside. Also, students are not to wear flip-flops to school. They lose them when running or jumping or sprain their ankles. Sandals, crocs or tennis shoes are recommended. Also, girls are not to wear halter tops to school. Tank tops are okay to wear.
Field Trip
I will be sending home permission slips later on this week for our zoo field trip on Tuesday, May 13 from 9:15 - 1:30 is. The cost is $4.00 per child and $5.00 per chaperone. I was able to get two buses so there is plenty of room on the bus. We did this because of the cost of parking at the zoo.
Reading
Please practice the letters and sounds of B, L, E. The words what, and, do, this. Practice making words with these word families -ed, -in, -on.
Math
We will be focusing on story problems, addition and subtraction. We will also be learning the names of 3-D shapes.
